The application submitted by Faedriel_Nazriel is as follows:
Part 1 - Out-of-Character (OOC) Questions
What is your character's name, as it appears on the Character Selection screen? Please include any special characters exactly as they appear.:
Faedriel Arclight
Are you over 18? (We may make an exception for younger players, but due to mature/adult themes presented in some of our storylines/RP activity, an OOC interview is required!):
Yes
How long have you played WoW?:
I have played WoW since Vanilla, only taking a break during Pandaria. I started playing on Epsilon a few months ago.
Tell us a little about your roleplay experience- preferred styles, themes, etc.:
As I view roleplaying as hyper-collaborative, I tend not to like roleplay posts that include too many actions and keep mine quick so that others have a chance to interact. In-game, my posts are one or two sentences, but I can make longer posts in discord. I try not to take it too seriously, leaving room for silly situations for fun, but I want to respect other people by not being immersion-breaking. There are some darker themes in my character backstories, but that rarely gets brought into public.
Please tell us a little about your previous guild experience. Have you ever been a guild leader or officer?:
I tried to lead a guild in vanilla when I was -very- young, and that did not go well, predictably. I co-led a guild in SWTOR and am about to become an officer in my current retail guild.
Why would you like to join our guild and roleplay with us? What makes a guild atmosphere "good" for you?:
I greatly enjoy your public RP events, and I think my RP style meshes well with a lot of y'alls. I have seen a relaxed and active atmosphere and I am a fan.
Also, the theme, my character is very much an academic type.
Is this character an alt, or a main? We strongly prefer mains. If it is an alt, how can you assure us that you'll be an active member?:
She's an alt, and I may just have to multi box with her for some events that I must bring my main to (aka performing at Conclave on the main boi). I keep tabs on discord and can be around for things. With the way my schedule works, I work 70 hours for one week, 10 hours shifts, 7 days straight. I try to be on a couple hours a day during that week. Then the next week I only work 1 day for 10 hours. And repeat. I can be available a lot during the week I only work 10 hours, and do the things I need to with my main as well as my alt. With the current schedule, colloquium and lecture fall on my off week, so I can spend a lot of time helping with those events.
I work night shift, and during work weeks have to leave for work at 8:30 PST, but then the days I am off, I'm up all night :)
Our monthly schedule is usually as follows: social rp every Tuesday, Literary Conclave twice a month on Thursdays, & Debate and Colloquium on the second and third Wednesdays, respectively. This is not including any storylines which may be ongoing. Do:
I think this question got cut off. It ends after "Do". If the question is "do these times work for you," I can come late every other Tuesday. Sadly I can only stay an hour for conclave as its on my work week, and debate and colloquium I can generally attend the whole time.
Are you willing and able to assist before/during community events to keep them running smoothly? :
Yes, of course. I have experience with that for public/non guild events as well
If your application is accepted, you will be contacted via Discord by an officer to schedule an in-character intake meeting. Please leave your Discord tag below so that we may be able to reach out.:

Part 2 - In-Character (IC) Questions: Please answer from your character's point of view, as you would in roleplay!
What is your full name, title, and preferred pronouns?:
Faedriel Arclight, and I use she and her. I formerly held titles, but they are of no consequence now
What race & class do you identify as? ( If either of these are outside normal game mechanics, please elaborate with a brief explanation! We are more than open to exotic characters, and characters of either faction, and encourage creativity. ):
I am one of the ren'dorei, and therefore have much aptitude for void magic. In combination with this, I am a warlock, harnessing fel energy in my studies.
What is your current profession?:
I am a researcher and a tutor. It is my life's passion to protect Azeroth and all existence by finding solutions where others may not dare to look.
I have been able to use what wealth I was able to bring with me from Silvermoon to grant myself a stable living and fund my research.
What position do you desire to fill at Stormwind University?:
Research Professor
Why do you wish to work for Stormwind University? What do you bring, as an individual, that will make our university better?:
I have a very particular set of knowledge that is crucial in the fight against the forces which seek to destroy all life. Even those not wanting to study these magics must be able to understand them in order to fight against them. I would offer courses catered towards those individuals as well as more specialized study for warlocks and void practitioners.
I would also like the University's support for my research. I am working on using fel magic to combat the void, picking up where the Legion's researchers left off before the Legion was eliminated. Though obviously, the Legion was an organization most foul, they were correct in identifying the threat the void poses. This work should not go to waste, and it requires someone skilled to complete it. My succubus research assistant Nazriel and I are in a unique position to do so. As an aside, I hope she would be able to accompany me at all times if I were granted a position.
I also hope to find unique perspectives on this work from colleagues who can offer collaboration and insight where my own vision may have shortcomings.
What relevant experience do you have for this position? Please describe a recent situation that would apply.:
I have been studying my magic for centuries and have become skilled in such research. I have also become a mentor to other casters, including mages and those in studies differing from my own, supporting the greater principles of magic.
How did you first discover Stormwind University?:
I had heard discussion of it within the Mage District and found a flyer for a Debate that piqued my interest. After spending some time on campus, I quite enjoyed the atmosphere and think it fitting for my pursuits.
