The application submitted by drez'lek is as follows:
Part 1 - Out-of-Character (OOC) Questions
What is your character's name, as it appears on the Character Selection screen? Please include any special characters exactly as they appear.:
Drez'lek
Are you over 18? (We may make an exception for younger players, but due to mature/adult themes presented in some of our storylines/RP activity, an OOC interview is required!):
Yes
How long have you played WoW?:
Late Vanilla. Please don't tell anyone I'm old and crusty though.
Tell us a little about your roleplay experience- preferred styles, themes, etc.:
I'm hoping to find academic adventure and absolutely lethal volumes fantasy technobabble. LF other wizards to pose with me for the side of an airbrushed van.
Please tell us a little about your previous guild experience. Have you ever been a guild leader or officer?:
I 've got... a few years of officer experience? I was mostly involved in smaller guilds of 7-15 people which are by nature a lot easier to manage OOC, allowing me to focus on the -good- bit of being an officer: Running events and plots for the gang.
Why would you like to join our guild and roleplay with us? What makes a guild atmosphere "good" for you?:
I have been RPing this dang WIZARD since BC. It's time they get the chance to spend time with their fellow NERDS. A good guild should ideally be something between an improv skit and long running D&D game. The goal is a collaborative story managed by the DM, who in turn give members the space to explore personal character arcs over the course of the group's story.
Is this character an alt, or a main? We strongly prefer mains. If it is an alt, how can you assure us that you'll be an active member?:
No disrespect to people with mains but I am simply built different. I juggle two characters very evenly, the same two I've now been RPing for 15 years. I hope that longevity serves as assurance enough.
Our monthly schedule is usually as follows: social rp every Tuesday, Literary Conclave twice a month on Thursdays, & Debate and Colloquium on the second and third Wednesdays, respectively. This is not including any storylines which may be ongoing. Do:
Tuesday is one of my weekly days off! The rest of this question appears to have been eaten by the UI, though.
Are you willing and able to assist before/during community events to keep them running smoothly? :
Always.
If your application is accepted, you will be contacted via Discord by an officer to schedule an in-character intake meeting. Please leave your Discord tag below so that we may be able to reach out.:
The Hogmother#1312
Part 2 - In-Character (IC) Questions: Please answer from your character's point of view, as you would in roleplay!
What is your full name, title, and preferred pronouns?:
Drez'lek, known as 'the vibin'. They/he pronouns.
What race & class do you identify as? ( If either of these are outside normal game mechanics, please elaborate with a brief explanation! We are more than open to exotic characters, and characters of either faction, and encourage creativity. ):
I'm a Farraki Troll, and before you ask, no, I'm not a half elf, a quarter elf or any other such thing. My eyes glow because I am a Wizard.
What is your current profession?:
A Wizard is never unemployed. We simply decide to stop doing magic for -other- people temporarily...which. I currently am doing. With the scourge resurgence pushed back into Northrend, my duties with the Argents are concluded. My time is currently spent in independent perfection of my life's passion; Enchanting!
What position do you desire to fill at Stormwind University?:
Staff, I imagine. Though a fauculty postion would be the five-year-plan.
Why do you wish to work for Stormwind University? What do you bring, as an individual, that will make our university better?:
In addition to the obvious skill over the arcane I have commanded over a long career as a ritualist and enchanter, I have a degree in linguistics from Dalaran college, with a specialty in translating spells. I speak five languages: Kezani, Zandali, Common, Orcish, and Thalassian. Stormwind university is wise to embrace educators from all over the world, and I am a specialist in the facilitation of cross-cultural magical exchange.
What relevant experience do you have for this position? Please describe a recent situation that would apply.:
In addition to the obvious experience of being a magical polyglot, I offer the wisdom of the magical traditions of the Farakki. Tanaris is not terribly flush with ley lines or other ambient arcane to draw upon. You will be hard pressed to find a practitioner of The Art who is as efficient as I am. "The voodoo makes do" is a lesson I've taught to improve the mana usage of the Horde's mages for years now. With the fourth war over I am excited to share these insights with humanity now, as well.
How did you first discover Stormwind University?:
A dear 'friend' of mine, Katherlin, was at the Brighton Rock Medical center and overheard that the university is welcoming foreign talent.
