APPROVED - App: Witchbird - by Amaranthaea
The application submitted by Witchbird is as follows:
Part 1 - Out-of-Character (OOC) Questions
What is your character's name, as it appears on the Character Selection screen? Please include any special characters exactly as they appear.:
Finavandrin
Are you over 18? (We may make an exception for younger players, but due to mature/adult themes presented in some of our storylines/RP activity, an OOC interview is required!):
Yes
How long have you played WoW?:
For about four or five years, now.
Tell us a little about your roleplay experience- preferred styles, themes, etc.:
I've a lot of roleplay experience, i prefer to write in third person and tend to go about a paragraph, or a little more. I explore all themes in rp, from dark to lighthearted and casual, it all is enjoyable with the right people!
Please tell us a little about your previous guild experience. Have you ever been a guild leader or officer?:
I have been a guild officer a few times, but, I do not enjoy the position and will likely never seek such a position out again. I've been in a few roleplay guilds over the years, some good, some bad.
Why would you like to join our guild and roleplay with us? What makes a guild atmosphere "good" for you?:
I've been lurking around in a few events with SWU, and I find the approachability of it's members, and the roleplay it provokes to be really fun and engaging. Questions are asked that make you think, and some situations are presented in a way that's actually informative.
Is this character an alt, or a main? We strongly prefer mains. If it is an alt, how can you assure us that you'll be an active member?:
This is a dual-main, I focus on two characters; Finavandrin, and another named Kathre. I split my time among them equally.
Our monthly schedule is usually as follows: social rp every Tuesday, Literary Conclave twice a month on Thursdays, & Debate and Colloquium on the second and third Wednesdays, respectively. This is not including any storylines which may be ongoing. Do:
The question cut off, but, I can generally make these events
Are you willing and able to assist before/during community events to keep them running smoothly? :
Yes!
If your application is accepted, you will be contacted via Discord by an officer to schedule an in-character intake meeting. Please leave your Discord tag below so that we may be able to reach out.:
Bird#3728
Part 2 - In-Character (IC) Questions: Please answer from your character's point of view, as you would in roleplay!
What is your full name, title, and preferred pronouns?:
Finavandrin, I have no title nor family name, and I go by he/him pronouns
What race & class do you identify as? ( If either of these are outside normal game mechanics, please elaborate with a brief explanation! We are more than open to exotic characters, and characters of either faction, and encourage creativity. ):
I am Sin'dorei, and I am a mage by occupation.
What is your current profession?:
Currently I have no occupation or profession, but I offer my services as a portalmaster if needed.
What position do you desire to fill at Stormwind University?:
Hopefully, a professor of graviturgy or conjuration
Why do you wish to work for Stormwind University? What do you bring, as an individual, that will make our university better?:
I bring knowledge regarding rather under-utilized fields of magic, being that of conjuration and graviturgy, that may pique the interest of those students eager to alter the world around them in ways unlike that of abjuration or evocation.
What relevant experience do you have for this position? Please describe a recent situation that would apply.:
I was a teacher in Dalaran prior to the unfortunate expulsion of the Sin'dorei from the city, and by my own choice I have not resumed teaching since. A recent situation regarding my past experience... hm, well, I did educate a poor lad quite thoroughly on the usefulness of making sure your equations were correct when connecting two locations via portal. We, of course, used a tomato rather than a living being as the subject for passage. Needless to say watching the fruit be turned into sludge was a lesson enough to have him double-checking his sigils.
How did you first discover Stormwind University?:
By sheer happenstance, mostly. I heard of it, of course, but one day I sat down during a lecture, and it rekindled in me the desire to return to a place of shared knowledge.
