Ignitive Fulmination
Luanna was in the middle of draining magic from any and all items she could find, rifling through chests and drawers...hidden spaces...the woman constantly heading back and forth throughout her sanctum...to one room, it was a large storage room with canisters and other containers for mana, essences and the like, the multicolored glows casting a rainbow of lights within.
Lu stood back and looked at the large pile of them, scattered out in a huge space...enough magic in one place unheard of to most..the runic circle beneath them glowed as she channeled and casted her magic...the teleportation circle glowing underneath it all and ready to activate, she grinned and headed out of the room, locking it.
The Firelands...a roiling and hot place of fire and volcanic rock..though it did have it’s nice places..so to speak.
Luanna was standing within the rocky and lava drooling spires of the mountains that surrounded a large valley that spread for miles around, eventually ending to the edge of the fireland’s floating land mass, off to her right was a large pass through the mountains and hills, leading to a deep dale full of overgrowth, a massive bramble forest of flora and fauna native to this plane, the structures and temples there housing her Volcanclave where the druids, shaman, priests, and paladins of her order reside. Looking from there back forward to the main area was hilly planes and sprawling fields of orange and yellow grass/flora, stone poked through the brush here and there..pools, streams and rivers of molten lava flow from every direction.
In some places the ground was blackened, gouts of flames and sputtering lava pools dot here and there, massive areas of space to the east were hexagonal columns of basalt that led to a part of the mountains of the same formations.
The area leading from the pass found travelers into a spreading forest of tall rising spire like vents, plumes of smoke and ash billow from their peaks to cast a sort of snow like ambiance around it, little orange dots flit and dart around within this “forest”, A small shrine to Lu just off the road that leads through it.
Her and her people worked hard over the years to terraform this corner to their liking...harsh yet habitable enough to exist like any other place in the material world.
The city walls stood tall with spiraling decorations and defensive towers, The buildings within were magically or elementalry put together, usually of basalt bricks, solid elementium, or any other material that can withstand the environment around them.
Floating islands above harbored more structures, all of them looking new and pristine..because they basically are.
It was a good sized city, built around a towering volcano, the steps and pathways leading high up into the caldera where a large throne sits the magma lord Volcanious.
The city was separated into districts each with their own color pallets, though the main theme being the dusty rose pink and rough bronze with which Lu adores herself.
Large Elementium spires curving and reaching into the sky above, tower over everything and acting as conduits to provide magic and power throughout the city.
The citizens that live and thrive here were all of those that followed her..pledged their lives to her current and past causes...as well as her allies and those that seek a new home where they had none.
Luanna was seen as a divine and powerful entity here, shrines and temples built by those most devoted to her, those that draw their strength and power from her or the magma lord directly, including her own children, elementals borne from her body or made with her own essence, they love and honor their mother, Blessings and echoes of Lu’s magic soak and drift from these sites.
This was Valcana, a place where a mixture of all races from all over come.. humanoids of all sorts, demons, elementals, other worldly or even eldritch beings, even a few loa and small self made deities set up their temples within her city...well..soon Prima’s city Lu thought as she moved her head over to the flat grounds outside the city walls, groups of people lined up in formations, over half of Lu’s forces were ready to embark into Ny’alotha to confront N’zoth and his own forces alongside that of the horde and alliance, a massive rift opened and everyone and everything down there started filtering through, a small glowing dot among them..it disappeared and popped next to Luanna, Prima stood there with a frown.
“Are you ready..let's get this done and over with..” she said in an annoyed tone.
“No..you will command them my little star..I’m needed elsewhere while you all complete this part.” Lu smiled and gave Prima a hug.
The little shimmering star elemental didn't return it, she crossed her arms and stared at her mother. “Surely there’s another solution...Valley’s prophecy doesn't mean this is the only way.. “
“It is Prima...and soon I’ll get what I’ve always wanted...the death of N’zoth and the experience of true death for myself.”
“Well that’s stupidly selfish of you..what about all your friends and family..”
“They won’t care..I made sure of that..to them I’m just some asshole by now..”
“And Caniell?”
Luanna sighs, “She’ll be fine without me...Look Prima..I only got into the university to lay low and gather my strength and power away from prying eyes-..”
Prima interrupts, “But..you found kindness and friendship unlike you’ve ever felt, a family...and a love for what you've been teaching..”
“True..true..I did and I still love it and them deeply...but I’m a burden to them..a danger to all of it..all of the world Prima, they won’t and shouldn't miss me...My time has come...now..you better go and lead your people.”
The little star gave Lu a look, “Fine…” and disappeared back down..and through the portal.
Valaryn Valley-Rose.. A Night Elven woman with stark pink hair and deep blood colored robes steps out from the shadows behind Lu, “It’s time..we should head out and wait...this is the finale Luanna..your destiny.”
Lu turned back to look at her, “Good…”
Luanna now found herself in the middle of the sea, a hidden place only a few of her kind know the whereabouts, shifting into a shark Lu swam down...down..deeper and deeper reaching the cold and dark floor of the ocean, an opening covered by kelp and coral that led to a tunnel, she swam until it opened up into a small cave of air, another entrance along the wall.
Lu stopped and spread her hands wide, revealing wards and protections, dire traps and runes, they allowed her passage once the right words and incantations were spoken.
Luanna was naked, she had left all of her possessions behind, her nude form stood tall and confident as runes, sigils, tattoos, and markings adorned her body that spread over every inch of her, most of them would emit a soft pink glow, others teal or a light blue, casting light around the tunnel walls...Though her brilliant and golden hair gave off even more so.
After a short walk she reached the end, an ominous black door with harsh red symbols upon its surface stood before her, her hand swiped left and it opened as her magic bid it to do as such, standing there were three robed figures, each kneeling to the ground in a submissive manner.
The middle figure’s voice was that of an older man, “Our mistress has come at last...pray tell you are here to seek reverence and aid to the master.”
Lu’s face was striking and serious, her gaze able to pierce through even the hoods cloth, her voice was stern, solid and commanding, “I have...Luanna has returned for the master.”
Her right hand coming up to drown the figures in wreathing sticky flames, their screams soon falling away as their body's stopped twitching. She entered into the massive cavern behind them, her foot falls scattering their ashes.
The cavern was huge, spreading high up as well as wide, it was circular with a large pool of dark black water in the center.
Within were encampments and shrines to N’zoth himself, Twilight Cultists and other minions of old god nature wandering around preparing and gathering to listen to their leaders.
Rumbling grew, shaking the cavern every so often as spikes of power shifted to this place, billowing and roiling smokey shadow gathered in the center over the pool.
Lu could feel N’zoth getting weaker, whatever those that fought him were doing..they were succeeding, that was good. Her connection to him was also getting lessened, and with it the powers she gained and uses...but that was no matter, most of her time has been building up to this point, gathering her own power, her own means to an end, such to the point she was so near..so close to something akin to a loa.
And she sure showed that power, cultists and the like around this place flocked to her for salvation, a beacon of hope as their master was soon to fall, his chosen daughter here to aid them in this time...but soon found out the harsh truth as Luanna began slaughtering them one by one, and in swaths, hundreds of entities were struck down, drained of any and all essences, or utterly obliterated by her magics, the floor within ran with red and black blood, the slanted floor funneling it all into the central pool.
Luanna swiped her hand through the air, the plasma like energies at the tips of her fingers arced in a claw like manner, rending the last defender of N’zoth apart, his blood joining the countless others as it splashed onto her nude body, she was slick with it, caked in gore, all of it steaming off of her.
The blood ran in rivers funneling and swirling within the pool, tendrils of it all snaking up into the growing eerie cloud of shadow and void, the last shreds of N’zoth’s essence gathering and reforming after his defeat at the hands of those in the far off plane of Ny’alotha, retreating here to this place of safety and seclusion.
Hundreds of bodies lie upon the ground about the cavern, most gaunt husks as their mana and essences were siphoned dry by Luanna, the rest blackened and smoldering corpses or torn piles of flesh and shattered bone.
Moneia Luanna thrusts her hands out, sickly black flowing magic with aqua flourishes about it came to her hands and eyes, she spoke in a haunting ghastly voice as it whispered yet echoed around the cavern, corpses, skeletons, and even gatherings of meat rose slowly, the horrid magic Luanna now manipulated lifting them up into standing, the oily sticky magic clung to them and spidered across their torn bodies, each of them igniting in a deep black and aqua flame, their eyes a glow with that sinister teal, once she was done raising all she could with the help of Ech’lo’s power, her Necro-flame undead shambling closer to her, the sound of feet scuffling, the crackle of the dread flames licking about them. They served and protected her now...as the roiling forces of shadow soon began to materialize..spreading out into a huge shape, the time was about here.
Frantically Luanna summoned her massive hoard of magics, a stockpile of essences large enough to rival a thousand mages, lifting her arms and hands high, canisters and other containers surrounding her, scores of her mana leeching tendrils slithering through the air and into each, siphoning and drawing out all of her gatherings.
Lu had once struck down two powerful blue dragons to gain their power..to deepen the mana well within her very being, but even that had its limit...brimming and overflowing with power, she drank in more and more, becoming ever so saturated...more ...unstable.
The swirling black clouds began spreading out, a large shape covering the pool, scores of long funnels snaked out into the very reaches of the cavern, coalescing and becoming more solid.
Luanna waited, still gorging herself on all the magical essences she could.
N’zoth's massive shape materialized...wounds of all sorts and not entirely whole, the beings' broken body lurched and swayed around, what was left of him held together just barely.
His eyes opened..scanning around the cavern..seeing the bodies...the blood sacrifices of his followers strewn about, the eerie necro-flame horde of undead surrounding someone he knew so well...a girl of promising talent and devout servitude, one he had gifted with so much long ago, yet still evaded his influence time and again...Moniea Luanna...Aluneth A-11.
“You have made a decision by being here...to give back or to take.” Rumbled his voice as it echoes around, shaking the earth and very air.
Luanna stared at him, her tendrils still sipping and drawing more magic into her, she was breathing heavy from the strain, “Long have I waited to gaze upon your majesty in person once again...I gave most of my life to you...to the twilight cult...to the destruction of the world..”
Lu’s eyes began to tear up, the light blue flames gathering in her eyes to run down her cheeks.
“Your beautiful..all powerful, my master…”
“I would heal your wounds...I would become your right hand once and for all to bring about the death of all life and bring about the hour of the true twilight in your name!” She was yelling passionately without realizing.
“But..such are the winds of fate it seems...I’m here to heal the world...of you..and myself from such occurrences from happening.”
And with that Lu had drained every last drop of years and years of stored power...her body unable to contain it all, her skin bursting at the seams, cracks began forming, showing glimmering spellfire underneath, casting light rays in all directions. She shook and twitched as she summoned a dagger in her hand, this was a special item..built to begin the main purpose of the siphoner sisters...to trigger their greatest weapon, being a living bomb powerful enough to obliterate entire regions.
Luanna’s skin began to glow bright, melting away into a a white hot substance, her form going critical and beyond unstable by this point, her flowing golden hair writhed about shining bright and shimmering yellow, Winds and magic began to pick up around her, swirling about in a whirlwind of flashing motes and bright particles, static and arcanic electricity arced all over her body, crackling and surging, jolts and sparks arced off of her to strike the stone floor around her, disintegrating the stone in large patches, or turning it into other materials...elementals were born and destroyed in the same instant all around her.
She began to walk towards N’zoth, each step leaving behind a misshapen puddle of molten rock or simply just removing any and all material from the floor.
Reality around her bent and tore, rifts tearing jagged wounds within time and space as she moved ever forward, her eyes peering into his own.
N’zoth roared at this spectacle and arrogance...this..disobedient woman. Flailing around his massive tentacles at her, one swung down to crush Lu, she didn't flinch or move to evade it, one swing of her arm up as she backhanded the limb, scattering it into ash and dust within the air above her.
N’zoth spurted out blood and ichor, the globs forming and writhing towards her, the undead swarmed them, squelching and bursting the slimes around as Luanna began picking up speed, running as fast as she could towards him, a trail of warped reality and destruction left behind her.
Large tentacles swung down at her, Blink...closer...shadow and bolts of eldritch magic pelted at her from all angles, blink….even more close.
Luanna ran with a rage in her now glowing and bright white eyes, spellfire dripping off her and pitting the ground, she leapt forward and into one of the larger open wounds.
Luanna pushed into his flesh, each hand and part of her nude body eating through like water to cotton candy, she ran through him, searing and hot, burning a path though to his middle...to his heart..
The roiling magic being that was now lu, burst through skin and muscle, through bone and shadow, stopping in front of a horrid beating heart.
The dagger in her palm flashed upwards into the air, and with a crazed facial expression and roar that seemed to tear fleshy material around her just from the piercing sound, she stabbed the weapon into her chest...the metal piercing into her core, it vibrated and shattered.
Luanna gasped suddenly..her eyes going wide with terror, streams of blue fire pouring down her cheeks...everything stopped..time stood still for what seemed ages.
She look down at her hand still holding the dagger in her chest, to her body.
Cracks and tears rippled through her form, spider webbing around it….
Lu screamed in a pained sound that ripped through the air, to match the roar and thrashing of the colossal old god whom she was within, only to be drown out as the space around her imploded down into a tight vacuum...a few moments go by and all that she was and held within exploded outwards in a torrential and terrible supernova of arcane energy, from above it looked like the sea floor ruptured up at high speeds, the ocean boiled and steamed before being cast high into the air, It looked as if a small magical star from deep under the ground swelled at high speeds, the nova erupting for miles wide and deep, carving out an enormous swath of destruction, the blast radius spreading as far as the eye can see.
Water ceased to rush back in to fill the void, floating rocks and material huge about in the air, nothing more than a deep crater in the ocean and earth itself.
Chaotic and wild magic rippled around within the entire space, a supreme anomaly swirling and spiraling around in what was once water and solid ground, wind and bright spellfire were now the dominant force here.
N’zoth...Luanna..everything was disintegrated and turned to nothing from the expulsion of rapid energies...all but a few things..dotted and scattered about were shards of crystal...the remnants of Luanna’s core, all about the white hot and sheared off floor of the crater they lay...shards..pieces..chips..dust…
Transparent and glimmering hands hung about in the air, shimmering stars and constellations within them, each slowly drifting down to pick up every single piece of Lu’s core...her heart..
Quite a while goes by as one by one each hand brings all of the pieces together, held with glowing translucent starlight.
A voice echoes around, “Your deed was done..your purpose fulfilled to the letter..just as I designed..yet..there you are..”
The hands swarm into one vast singular one, reaching up to pluck Luanna’s soul and spirit from the air before it could escape into the afterlife...dropping and sealing it back into the core.
“Hmmm, not yet little inferno...there is more for you in this life.”
Luanna felt pain the likes of which she never thought possible, it drove her mad, then it began to get less and less..a wave of calm drifted over her...her body disintegrated around her sight, the shards of her heart scattered to the winds, she sat and watched as N’zoth was equally destroyed..even his spirit was scoured clean into nothing, felt him disappear..yet her own remained untouched...a warm embrace wrapped around her keeping her there still...she broke away from it, shifting into where ever was beyond this material plane...to seek a peaceful death at long last...to what ever hell she deserved to be in...yet it was denied as her vision soon zipped through in a blur, dropped into what felt like a container...she was standing within a hall shards in all shapes and sizes mirroring her spirit in thousands of faceted images, a strange essence forming a barrier to keep her there...for now..she was in a sort of hell.
Magically attuned beings and creatures alike within a good distance from the explosion and anomaly felt the surge and disruption of the event.
Luanna’s followers, those linked to her power and very being directly fell over in gasping breaths and terror, the borrowed power blinking in and out of them, though most kept a small fragment of what she was within them, others died instantly from the shock..or passed out into comas.
Lu’s children and Prima felt themselves blink out briefly, shocks of pain and magical backlash rippling through them...only to calm minutes later. A while later after recovering, Prima found her mothers core on her desk..shattered but held together by unknown forces.
Valayrn Valley-Rose watched from far far away, her scrying showing her each detail of the occurrence, she smiled warmly and raised her arms to the sky to pray to Elune, to tell her of this deed being finally done...shimmering silvery blue drifted about her...but unknown to even the priestess, the starlight entity above smiled behind his mask of Elune.
