What stands before are two heavy dark oak doors. They are simple in their design, and yet, they are perfectly uniform. Orderly in a way, with a single hint of potential chaos. With a small deep breath, the first year student takes a deep breath, and they would push the doors open, ready to begin this new Fall term with their Alchemy Professor, what wonders, they will see? What fantastical concoctions will they take part in? All of these questions would be answered soon they knew, as they made their way forward into the Alchemy lab.
As the young student walked in, the first thing they would notice is the aroma. Scents both bitter and sweet. Some would which would be commons smells to all, and others odd and mysterious. A scan of the room from side to side, one would see that it seemed, a very clean, and standard class room. A single path splitting the two sides of the room leading towards what the student can assume was the desk and work station of their Professor. The student has yet to see their teacher as of yet, looking back and forth he would only see his fellow students of various races slipping in, each claiming a island of their own, and in the very corner of the room, and idle water elemental...How strange they thought as the water elemental stood there in stony silence save for the bubbling swirling water which pulsed from the being...Then it dawned upon them. For fire emergencies, and a wash in case of exposure to improper chemicals and brew mixes. Though they took the hint as he saw the remaining students began to take their places, thus he would do the same, slipping into a table, rolling out his tomes quills and inkwells, preparing for the day ahead of them, what can the first day bring he wondered to himself...
And as if all on queue, and the last student claimed their spot, the doors which all the students entered from opened! And from there, a steady echo of what seemed like...Hooves? Sounded as what passed the students was a tall, looming member of the Draenei people. Dressed in the blue and gold of the University's colors. Simply by looks alone, she seemed to carry with her years of experience. Of course they all know the stories and rumors of the beings of Argus and their near immortality. So who knows just how old their Professor was. With each hoof echoing as it connected with the stone floors, and she stopped at her work table, she turned and eyed her gathering of students with a silent, appraising stare...And then what seemed to be a warm, welcoming smile. One which felt like a mother would give, her arms opened before her as she inclined her head to all before her.
"Welcome..." she spoke simply, loud enough for all to hear in the rich accented voice the Draenei people were known for. "Welcome to Novice Alchemy. I am Asistant Professor Keshina." she bowed her head politely before all before her as she raised her head once more smiling widely at all before her. "I know many among you here are first year students. And you honor me by taking my class. I shall strive to ensure all that I know is passed on to you, and you should you like what you learn here, open further the world that is Alchemy." Keshina smiled as she reached for a stack of papers upon her desk. And from there she began to circle the room, passing out a copy of each paper before returning once more to her own work station. "Well then...Shall we go over the Syllabus then?"

About the Professor:
Welcome! I am glad that we see so many people here in this class! As you all were told, I am Assistant Professor Keshina, and yes! I am one of the Alchemy teachers within the University!
I suppose the simplest place to start is a little about myself. While I have no official training in the Alchemical arts, no degrees, or tutelage of any sort, what I do have simply experience. I started on my vocation of Alchemy roughly Three hundred years ago. Shortly after my people arrived on the world of Dreanor. Before our arrival, I served my people faithfully as a Vindicator, keeping those who would harm us at bay. But as it so happened, not long after we arrived, my late husband blessed me with child. With that in mind, I prepared to take things easier from there. Setting down my armor and taking the cloth of an Anchorite. Naturally, during that time, one has plenty of free time! And one of my personal hobbies came in the form of studying the flora of the land, and well this led to a Three century excursion in breaking down what the lands of Dreanor gave us and combining these elements into new and fantastical concoctions! Thus, my love of Alchemy became solidified!
So yes, from there and to now, I would gather what material I could, and train myself to brew potions, and elixirs of all manner of varieties. From healing wounds, curing poisons, to enhance one’s natural ability, to help with an aliment or for simply cosmetics! I know most of you have seen the barber here in Stormwind at least once or twice yes? Seen a bald man enter and one exit with a mane akin to a lion? Well, that is thanks in part to Alchemy! And It is all accomplished through time, patience, and dedication.
So I suppose one would ask, why did I tell such a small tale? Well, it helps give one a glimpse at the wonders in which the field of Alchemy can achieve! Not only are the skills in identifying what plants, elemental compounds, and animal parts are useful in a survival situation where one might find themselves alone, and indeed to endure, but a highly profitable one! The Alliance army, Mercenary groups, and adventurers from all over Azeroth will certainly pay vast sums of gold to ensure that have that even of slightest of edges in a tough situation! Thus, the potential profit an Alchemist may gain from such works!
And of course, the other and my personally main reason for pursuing this craft. The knowledge one gets! Alchemy, chemistry these things are simply the means to which we learn how our world works! And of course, just what new fantastical brews one can make! Will we discover the elixir of eternal life? The ability to see into the past? Future? Oh the possibilities are simply endless with the power that Alchemy potentially holds!
Keshina would look up from her Syllabus nodding her head in approval as she smiled before all gathered. "So then." she spoke as she sat the paper down before her table as she scanned the room before her as she clapped her hands together. "Shall we get started?" she cheerfully spoke.
