Faru Windfur strolled through the streets of Stormwind City at a casual pace, a smile on her face as she swayed and shifted through the crowds of others going on with their lives. Each person she passed seemed busy or distracted with one thing or the other, whether with parchment and scrolls in their possession, or perhaps chatting with another individual, and some even just observing the crowds, leaning against corners or stone walls and leaving a curious, sometimes dangerous air around them. This seemed typical enough behavior of the citizens of the city to the Pandaren, having stayed in Stormwind for quite some time now. Each of them with their own goals or things to do, and sometimes little time to simply relax.
She continued to move through the crowds until she reached a corner of the canals outside of the Trade District. One that she has passed on numerous occasions, especially recently. She paused and took note of her surroundings before walking over towards a stone wall, turning her back towards it and leaning back into it. She sighed and smiled as she observed her surroundings, facing the canals and observing some of the buildings surrounding the Cathedral District.
“Here again, then? Really? I don’t understand why you keep bothering with this…”
Faru continued to gaze across the canals, not bothering to look at the cloaked individual that appeared near her. “I keep bothering with it because I wish to.”
The cloaked individual turned to look towards her, face hidden by a mask. “What, is it personal or something?”
“You could say that,” Faru said, her smile remaining serene. “She managed to escape my grasp from something I was not anticipating. Despite that, things have still managed to progress well.” She paused as she thought. “She is getting stronger. And once the opportunity presents itself, she will be useful once more.”
The cloaked individual shook his head. “If you can even get to her. Between the Worgen and the mutant, she isn’t as vulnerable as she was before.”
“Perhaps not,” Faru stopped leaning and straightened up, standing to her full height once more. “But I have been patient.” She tilted her head slightly, continuing to smile. “Soon the master will come. And perhaps with that, an opportune moment.”
“Perhaps,” the cloaked figure said, “But do not forget your purpose. More eyes must be opened before the master strikes. Make sure this does not distract you from the main goal.”
Faru nodded, continuing to keep her gaze across the canals. “I won’t.”
The cloaked figure gazed at Faru a bit longer before turning and disappearing into the shadows. Faru continued to smile and gaze before she heard a door open and footsteps. She stepped back against the wall and turned her gaze towards where the noise had come from.
She watched as Sidda Noctana left the place where she lived, dressed up in a vest and shirt, ready for another day. She moved and began navigating the canals at a fast place, away from where Faru was standing, towards the path that would take her to the University. Perhaps she was in a rush. Faru wasn’t sure but was left to her own silent pondering as she watched the young woman rush away, stepping away from the wall to keep her within sight for as long as she could.
“It won’t be long now… your eyes, and others, shall be opened soon enough.”
