Part 1 - OOC Questions
What is your character's name, as it appears on the Character Selection screen? Please include any accented characters exactly as they appear.:
Are you over 18? (We may make an exception for younger players, but due to mature/adult themes presented in some of our storylines/RP activity, an OOC interview is required!):
How long have you played WoW? Would you consider yourself a more casual or hardcore player, in terms of activity?:
I've been playing 11 years. Honestly I am somewhere in-between.
Can you tell us a little about your roleplaying experience? Do you have a preferred style?:
I'm a bit of a casual roleplayer. Not much experience with roll systems.
Please tell us a little about your previous guild experience. Have you ever been a guild leader or officer?:
I've never been a guild leader or officer in a guild that mattered.
Are you new to Wyrmrest Accord (US)? If not, what other roleplay guilds have you belonged to on WrA?:
No. <Brotherhood of the Horse>
Why would you like to join our guild and roleplay with us? What makes a guild atmosphere "good" for you?:
Your guild seems to have a scholarly theme to it which I think meshes fairly well with my mage's rp.
Is this character an alt, or a main? We strongly prefer mains. If it is an alt, how can you assure us that you'll be an active member?:
This is an alt. I have a guild friend in battle.net tag so I am open to a proverbial kick in the rear should I slack off.
Part 2 - RP Questions
What is your full name and title?:
What race do you identify as? What is your "class"? ((If either or both of these are outside of the normal game mechanics, please elaborate and provide a brief explanation!)):
What is your profession, and what academic subject would you like to teach? Can you tell us a little about your expertise with this subject?:
Right now I am a student still struggling with the basics, though one day I hope to master all manner of spellwork; Divination in particular is my expertise and I would one day love to teach it.
Why do you wish to be a professor at Stormwind University? What can you as an individual bring to our University community to make it better?:
Humans in spite (or perhaps because) of their short lifespans have made many leaps and strides in the short (in elven years) time that's passed since my people introduced magic to them; arguably more then elves themselves have made in the countless millennia we've possessed it. It should prove enriching to peruse the knowledge accrued within their kingdom's libraries. Not to mention, it will be a breath of fresh air to step away from the rigid teachings of the folks back home. As for what I bring... I'm not sure. My late master saw something in me so that must be worth something right..?
Please briefly describe a recent experience involving your profession or academic subject.:
Magister Umbric was one of the first magisters in my homeland of Silvermoon to show any courage in pursuing the unknown since the departure of my old teacher. I decided to observe his teaching hoping to find a way to scry through the void and maybe find out what happened to him. Alas things went awry and if not for Alleria's intervention we all wold have been lost to madness.
How did you first discover Stormwind University? What interested you the most about us and led you to apply? :
I happened upon one of their Literary Conclaves at the gazebo by the water. They truly have a way of bringing their lessons and stories to life. I fell this is the place I will find my own way as a great scholar of the arcane.
((Noted, Emmy, thank you for relaying the message. I'd suggest making the change to the application itself, but it seems that editing an application sometimes messes up the entire formatting of the post. So it may be best to just leave it be, with this addendum in mind. :) ))
The Office of the Dean conditionally endorses this application.
((I've got a couple of items that I feel require clarification before I can fully endorse.))
1.) There is a simple mention of Brotherhood of the Horse. That guild is widely known for a variety of negative connotations in regard to the WrA RP community as a whole, including, but certainly not at all limited to, cesspool recruitment. While we're not the kind to ascribe to server rumor without personal experience, the fact that there's a strong and widespread stigma attached to Brotherhood of the Horse in particular gives me pause.
We neither ask for nor expect anybody to badmouth their previous guild, and in fact, it's quite telling when someone actually does. But considering what I do know, personally, of Brotherhood of the Horse's operations and conduct as a RP guild, I'd like to know if prior membership there set some kind of standard of expectations for you that we should be aware of, well in advance of application endorsement.
Additionally, I'd like to reinforce the fact that we greatly respect and appreciate honestly on these applications. We absolutely do not pre-judge our applicants for whatever guilds, organizations or individuals that they've associated with in the past, or may continue to, so long as it doesn't come to the detriment of Stormwind University, our good name and reputation and overall community presence here on Wyrmrest Accord.
2.) Having a guild friend on Battle.tag is also quite vague as a response. Does "guild friend" mean one of our present guild members in SWU? And if so, who? No one in this guild's spoken up (yet?) to claim that designation, so I admittedly find this situation a bit curious.
(Elanor was seeking an apprenticeship with one of us, I happened to be the first to reach out to her regarding that. The "Guild Friend" she mentioned, I believe, is myself. As I have her on B.net so that she could easily contact me when we decide to further that story.)
The Department of Fine Arts endorses this application.
((While I share Amara's concerns re: prior guild experience, we've dealt with interesting pasts and odd expectations before. Judging by the IC portion of this application, the applicant strikes me as intelligent enough to adapt.))
The Office of the Dean hereby fully endorses this application.
((With Caniell having weighed in on the matter, I'm inclined to agree. Emmy provided us with further information on one of the issue I'd brought up, and the other, we'll leave subject to the initial 30-day probationary process upon successful completion of an Intake Meeting.))
((A Letter of Acceptance will be sent to the applicant - via in-game, IC mail - to arrange their Intake Meeting!))
