“Uh Professor Knitsbraid? Is this really a good idea?”
A student asked as all the students watched their lecturer use his foot to enter the culinary arts lab of the school since his hands were quite filled with a large assortment of ingredients
“Of course it is! He replied with a smile
“See my young fighters there are many things in this world to eat that will change you for better and for worse.”
Once inside the lab the students found their places while he set down ingredients.
“For instance.” He raised a tomato.
“Take this tomato, did you know tomatoes are actually a good source of vitamins”
“But I thought that was just oranges,” One of them blurted out.
He smirked and spun the tomato on one of his fingers.
“Now that's what you think, but herbalist and farmers have found traces of the same nutritional values in a tomato that are also inside an orange, mostly being vitamin c.”
“Not to mention it has a bit of sweet taste to it as well.” He caught the tomato and bit into it with a chuckle.
“Buts that's not all that's not all that's inside,” He took another bite. “The tomatoes have also been found to have traces of vitamin K and potassium as well as keep the body free from heart disease and other harmful diseases the light can’t fix.”
One student raised their hands.
“So what does that do for us Prof?” She asked.
“Glad you asked, See the vitamins that fruits foods produce, let us use the tomato, for now, Vitamins such as K and C are very important for the body.”
He got a piece of chalk and began to doodle a little.
“Vitamin K is what helps your body stop wounds from flowing. Who can tell me why that's important?”
A hand went up.
“Because if we're fighting and get injured we it will help us recover quickly.”
He smiled and gave a quick finger bang. “Right on the mark.”
He drew a big tomato.
“See everything we eat, we digest and it becomes part of us making us stronger, faster and even in some cases smarter.”
“So why did we need to the cooking lab for the day then?”
All the students notice a grin grow on Ezaines face.
“That's because we're going to cook a warriors meal!"
He turned revealing a long row of food ingredients ranging from cooked fish to raw fish to eggs to weird looking eggs to regular meat to meat that had spikes on the skin.
“Come gather round, who knows how long we have before Can- I mean all the foods nutrients are gone.”
Once the students were around the table, Ezaine pulled a large black cauldron out and clapped his hands.
“So what do we add first?” He looked at his students.
They all began to look at each other not sure what to say or do until one raised his hand.
“Yes, Wesley, what do you think we add first.”
The young ginger freckled boy looked around and pulled a jug from the side.
“How about we put some water inside?”
“Water it is! Let's get too it!”
The whole class began to scramble around the room filling jugs of water as they all began to chatter up with excitement.
Once the last student made it back Ezaine held his hand out again.
A hand shot up.
“How about some cut up grapes?”
“You don’t need my permission.” He held his arms out. “Do as you please it's your meal.”
And that's when it took off.
All the students began to scramble around the room and fill the cauldron as it began to bubble. The spiked meat flew in, someone cut up some bananas and other fruits, The veggies were peeled, a gnomish child and dwarf youngling we're adding a strange green liquid into the mixture...
Ezaine blinked and held his hand up. “Whoa, what's that?”
The little gnomish boy raised up his glasses. “Professor Knitsbraid it's with my great honor to say I think that this supertonic me and Shammy came up with thinking this is exactly what this meals needs for little mages like us. The foods you say help warriors but you also teach us casters some basics as well you know.”
Ezaine looked at Shammy the young Dwarvish lass who was still pouring the liquid.
“It's mostly sugar really.” She said.
And with that Ezaine tipped it over till all the liquid was poured out of the jar. The students looked at him.
“What? You had me at sugar.”
After a few more things fell into the pot they all gathered around the bubbling cauldron. The stew inside the cauldron was no longer clear water but instead, a nice pudgy brown blue that bubbled every time Ezaine would stir.
“Anything else?” He looked at the students.
A group of young girls began to walk over with a large flat circle of dough in all of their hands.
“We were thinking it would like be a pie and stuff.” She popped her gum.
He shrugged and nodded for the go ahead.
“Sure it won’t hurt.”
After the girls had laid the blanket of dough over the stew and cauldron Ezaine turned to the class.
“So what have we learned?”
“That eating a balanced diet makes us stronger.” One student blurted out.
He looked at his stopwatch for a second.
“Soon your meal will be ready an-”
“Um professor.” one of them called out.
“Oh come now I'm sure it’ll need a little mo-”
“But Professor its-”
He sighed. “Its what,” He turned. “What could it possibly be-”
The dough had actually begun to rise into a giant air bubble of now blue colored dough.
Ezaine looked at it up and down.
“Everyone…. Out now.”
All the students scattered out of the room with Ezaine following and slamming the door to the cooking lab.
He blinked and turned to see Caniell standing there.
She looked around at the students who were actually pretending to look like everything was normal
“I see you’ve brought your students to the cooking lab as we talked about. I hope you actually taught them and not grade them on the food they cooked.”
Ezaine gulped and kept his back to the wall.
“W-what, of course, I did they we made a meal for all of us really and totally wasn’t a grade!”
Cani eyed him for a bit and soon smiled. “Very well,” She sniffed the air
“Oh it smells lovely, might I see what it is you lot have whipped up?”
Her hand was already on the door before he could stop her.
Before she knew it Canis face was greeted to the sight of a large blue dough ball touching the ceiling of the room.
Ezaine watched Cani slowly as she closed the door and sighed.
“Is that a giant ball of dough growing.”
“Is that what you and your class were cooking?”
She took a deep breath.
“Is that dough able to exp-”
The school building shook a bit.
The silence between Cani, Ezaine and Ezaines Class grew very thick.
Her claws from her worgen form began to grow on the door.
“You know what happens n-”
Before she finished her words Ezaine was halfway across the hallway.
“KNITSBRAID!” The word echoed throughout the school.
