Stormwind Trade Faire & Festival
Saw this while poking around on some of my feeds.

Is the University interested in Recruiting/Advertising at this event? I wasn't sure if we had something already planned that night?
Just something to mull over if any of us wish to just attend as "Citizens of Azeroth," like we do.
IIRC we were already approached about this-- or Amara was via mail, plus we've (those of us with Tumblr accounts) seen ads all over Tumblr and other social networking sites-- and have decided against it as we are already a bit swamped this month with events. I may be wrong, however.
If people want to attend, then by all means, do so. Us participating... I don't know about anyone else but we have 8 - 10 public events we are hosting in March and would hate seeing us spread too thin. Officers are obligated to attend events that we host (as much as possible) and I know I look forward to a few days of just... relaxing. Or having free days to further our own RP storylines, like the big finish to the fel arts gig or personal things going on with our individual toons. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Maybe we can be in the next one, in a month that isn't so busy? Anyway, thanks for letting the non Tumblr-clique people know about this.
Thank you for posting this, Ford. :) I apologize for not being more expedient in posting my own take on this, but I've been rather busy IRL and had also still been getting over a bout of the flu. Between that and work lately, my ass has been roundly kicked. LOL >_<
Anyway...
This event will be taking place on Saturday, March 19th and I've been sent a couple of letters of invitation, first by Ralond and then by Eryn Holt (GM of House Holt, to my understanding).
At any rate, I'm not entirely sure if we have anything scheduled for that particular evening, but I'd like to know if we'd be interested - as a University - in either participating or just attending. (Of course, the latter option would still be purely optional, and we could just tour the fairgrounds leisurely!)
However, if we'd like to actively participate in this event, we've been invited by the Trade Faire organizers to reserve a booth (or more than one, open slots and willing members permitting). I know that we're really not the trade/mercantile types within the University, but if nothing else, I thought that maybe a booth might be good for showcasing the Book Faire? But that's also a commitment that I don't want to lock anyone into without their permission! (Also, the Book Faire idea had become Alandi's braintrust!)
I'd like to officially answer Ehrynne (Eryn Holt, ICly) within the next couple of days or so. Let me know what the interest level is, and I'll respond accordingly. :)

Thank you for the swift response, Alandi! :)
And thank you for "volunteering" your efforts with the Book Faire! I figured that this could be a great opportunity to do so, but I didn't want to just push it on you or anyone else without checking first. Not to mention, I wasn't sure if we collectively felt like sitting this one out or not, as participants. (We can always go for the fun of it, regardless!) This being the case, I'm sure many of us will come out to show our support and keep you company in this venture, Alandi. :D
It *looks* like this Trade Faire event will be pretty big, so it might be an excellent chance to showcase the Book Faire and explain the concept to a wider, more public audience. (Also, a good opportunity to get the word out there for our usual events too, I'm sure! LOL ;) )
I will mail Ehrynne back when I get online later, and ask to reserve a booth for our book stand.

Just a quick update to the situation:
Three days ago, I responded to Ehrynne (Eryn Holt, ICly) via in-game mail, regarding our willingness to attend the Stormind Trade Faire as general attendees as well as to reserve a booth.
I have received confirmation that my response was received, and Ehrynne has since asked to schedule an in-game, IC meeting to discuss the finer details. (I'm guessing whatever details that the Trade Faire folks need, for the booth reservation, etc.?) I haven't yet been able to catch Ehrynne online, but in my response to hers, I noted what my availability generally is each day.

A further update to the situation:
I've still received no response from Ehrynne regarding the Stormwind Trade Faire, and I haven't yet been able to locate her online. (At least, at the same time that I seem to be online and available!)
Maggie has since contacted one of the House Holt members that she met way back during our Winter's Veil Ball, and he tells us that Ehrynne apparently wanted me to provide a specific date and time to meet up. (Which would've been nice for her to communicate to me! But I digress... :P )
Not to sound snarky, but seriously... We're often very busy in this guild. We run weekly events and then throwing in other, oft-scheduled events (like Tenure Defenses, Main Storyline mini-events, etc.) it's difficult for me to name specific times and dates for anything too solid. This is a prime example of the difference between us and many of these other guilds that we share the WrA community with. I like our way far better. I mean, THEY approached us, not the other way around.
Aaaaaaanyway... LOL
I'm going to keep looking for Ehrynne as often as I can, and see what it is that she wants exactly. I would surmise at this point that the meeting is most likely to gather some information for the booth that I'd requested to reserve. The Stormwind Trade Faire is next Saturday, March 19th, so we don't have much time, but I'll do my best for this endeavor.
I'll continue to report with any further updates or progress that I make!
~^~ Amara ~^~
Ford, the offer is appreciated, but Amara has already been in contact with the GM of this guild and I have been speaking with one of the officers, so we should probably continue that way. It might get extremely confusing with more volunteers suddenly popping up to try to manage things. If it turns out we don't do this event, it really isn't a big deal; as Amara said we have a busy month already and our own storylines still need attention. :)
Well, seeing as there's been no mention of forward movement, a general aversion to the event &/or it's coordinators, no times posted on the official site that I can find, AND I forgot there was a RL event I had committed to, it seems, unless the event will run from 8pmish server until later, I will be unable to attend.
I apologize Alandi, I hope to be bookish with you in the very near future, I'm sure we will have opportunities soon. Hopefully, should we move forward with the faire at this faire, that someone else will assist you in my stead, as, regardless of coordinators, affiliates and in-guild activity, I was looking forward to the event. Ah well, back to script outlines!
The organisers of this event never bothered to get back to Amara, so we are not participating, with a booth, I mean. They required contact to reserve a booth and Amara and I both spoke to the GM and one of the other members, but they never got back to us with an answer, and some of them haven't even logged in in the past few days. Betcha the "no new content/end of WoD lull" is hitting them hard-- it seems to be affecting lots of guilds right now. :(
As for attending, of course people are welcome to attend, otherwise. It isn't on our calendar as it is not an official SU event. :)
