SWU Combat will be a tournament in which the characters in SWU take part, battling till only one remains. This will be a single elimination tournament between the members of SWU. Combatants will be bringing the weapons they use on a normal basis, and each character's traits, talents and abilities will be taken into account. Each player may have up to two characters in the tournament.
PLEASE PM VOTES FOR EVERY FIGHT TO ME EITHER IN-GAME OR IN THE FORUMS! DO NOT TELL PEOPLE WHO YOU VOTED FOR! Even if you don’t know the characters that well. Ask their respective owners about them, check their character sheets and backgrounds, or if you don't want to do either of those; flip a coin! Each person must vote on every fight in a round so votes are equal across the board.
The results will be posted in response to this thread one fight at a time. Each fight will receive a short story dedicated to the action, and a doodle depicting the fight.
Please note that while these characters would likely never engage in combat to this degree, this is not canon, has no rhyme or reason as to why they are fighting, and should not be looked into more deeply than the characters appearing on screen and some gravely-voiced narrator shouting “Round 1… FIGHT!”
For your character to have a better chance at winning, update (or post) your character's profile so that people can research them and make more informed judgements! Post character bios in the Faculty Records section here ( http://www.stormwind-university.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=2871729&gid=453663 ).
After the first round is over, round two will be edited into the OP to receive votes. And so on and so forth with each round’s pairings being completely random. Tied fights with no winner will be a tie and result in two losers and niether will pass onto the next round. It's like Mortal Kombat or Celebrity Deathmatch.
To let me know which character(S) you would like to participate in the tournament, please PM me in game or here in the forums by midnight Friday, June 12th! Good luck everyone!
LIST OF PARTICIPATING CHARACTERS

My apologies to anyone and everyone who wanted or tried to get a hold of me yesterday. I put the deadline on the same day as my oldest' birthday and cometely forgot I wouldn't be online Friday. I'll be this evening (Saturday) after I get off work.
If there's anyone who would like their character to participate that I haven't listed, please respond here and I will add your character to the list.
The First Round's Brackets are up. I used a random bracket generator to produce the rounds.
PLEASE SEND ME AN IN-GAME MAIL OR A PM HERE ON THE FORUMS WITH YOUR VOTES. THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE CHARACTERS CAN STILL VOTE! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO VOTE FOR EACH CHARACTER IN EACH ROUND. IF YOU WANT, YOU CAN ADD REASONING TO YOUR VOTES WHEN YOU GIVE THEM AND I WILL TAKE THEM INTO CONSIDERATION.
Anywho! Without further ado! Here are the brackets!!!
Since bi rounds are inevitable in bracket based competitions, I thought I would ask how everyone would prefer to see them handled. There are a few ways:
1: Let the brackets decide who gets a bi round. This basically gives the people at the lower end of the brackets the bi's and is luck of the draw.
2: Randomize the fights for each round so that everyone has an equal chance for a bi, which also shakes up the brackets each round so no one knows who's fighting who until the rounds are published.
3: Bring in a combatant who lost in the previous round (voted on prior to their reappearance) to fight the person with the bi while giving the person a second chance at glory.
Just feel free to respond with a quick 1, 2, or 3.
Also! I neglected to put in a deadline for votes for round 1. PLEASE have your votes in by midnight of Wednesday the 17th. Thanks to everyone participating so far!
In sports, particularly tournament bracketing, there is sometimes what's called a "Bye" round.
Essentially a "Bye" round is when, due to the rankings/bracketing/etc., a competitor receives a free round where they face no opponent. Effectively, having a Bye allows that competitor to move automatically to the next round.
All things considered, I can't help thinking that Stormwind University tournaments might also have Bi rounds too, but only for fun and with no bearing at all on the tournament results! >;)
Aaaaaand.. boom, goes the dynamite.
~^~ Amara ~^~
EDIT: Oh, I'm also for Option 3 in the event of a Bye.
With the Round 1 fights posted, I offer you the brackets for Round 2! The reoccurring fighter to go up against Declain this round was randomly chosen. Welcome back Amara for her second chance at glory!
You have until midnight of Wednesday, the 24th of June to send me your votes (and reasoning for your votes if you like). Enjoy!
Tiny - those stories were AMAZING! :-D I think you did a great job getting pretty darn close to each combatant's character. I loved reading them, and now I'm super regretful that I didn't throw my own hat (hammer?) into the ring!

Because I was unable to log on last night to get any votes that may have been mailed to me, I am extending votes to midnight tonight.
Please PM me your votes if you haven't already.
And you can still vote for Round 2 (listed in a post above in this thread) even if your character isn't participating.
