Rank & Promotion Policy
As of now, the member progression looks like this:
A.) Visiting Professors are new members for the guild. They will receive a 30-day minimum trial membership, during which they are expected to be active and involved with the guild's ongoing events and social times. Visiting Professors are subject to the same rules regarding activity as Professors- that is to say, if they are not around for scheduled RP times for a duration of 14 days or longer, and have not reached out to an officer to explain, they will be removed from the guild, without prejudice. If, at the end of the trial membership, the Officer team decides that a Visiting Professor has shown the dedication and interest in the guild, they will be considered for promotion to...
B.) Professors are the majority of the membership. As before, they are expected to maintain a fair level of activity within the guild, and they are expected to keep a level of decency, both within the guild spaces and in public areas. Professors gain access to the guild bank, as well as the ability to host their own public events such as lectures, classes, and more through Stormwind University.
In addition to the two above, there is one final role for non-Officer members to aim for:
TENURE
The Tenured role is a symbol of heavy dedication to Stormwind University. Members who earn this role set themselves as a role model for the newer members of the guild, and they represent SWU at all times.
~HOW TO ACHIEVE AND RETAIN TENURE~
-In order to achieve and retain your Tenured position, you must maintain an active presence within the Guild. If you do not log on for more than 14 days without contact with an officer, you will lose your Tenure position, and will have another 14 days before being removed from the guild, as is written in guild policy.
-In addition to activity, you MUST have at least one relevant entry to your SWU Forums Portfolio in order to recieve Tenure. Examples of relevent entries include course information like syllabi or lesson plans, research information, or other contributions to your character's field.
-Tenured members are expected to uphold a high standard of behavior at all times that they are representing Stormwind University. Behavior that is not aligned with what is expected from a Tenured member will result in a warning, and subsequently, loss of Tenure.
-Members who actively participate and fufill roles for public events will be more likely to be considered for Tenure.
~BENEFITS OF TENURE~
-Tenure will now open the way to have IC, non-officer Department Heads. It should be noted, Tenure does not automatically MAKE you a department head. It simply makes it possible to become one down the road!
-Tenured members will be given priority for running events and picking dates for their said events.
-Tenured members will be the ONLY non-officer members given the opportunity to run full-fledged storylines for the guild.
