The campus was buzzing with activity today. The sun was hanging in the sky, sending beams of warmth toward Stormwind. A soft breeze kept it cool enough to be outside. No one was going to miss this beautiful Friday. Many of the student were in the quads, studying, while others were taking advantage of the beautiful sun by playing games in the fields. Nothing could possibly ruin the beauty that was today. Not even the faculty of Stormwind University. A small group of faculty members had decided to take advantage of the entire weekend, which, hopefully, held more sunny days like today.
In the back lot of Stormwind University, a small group of faculty members were preparing for their trip. A caravan, pulled by 2 stallions would take the group to their hiking spot. From there, they’d just have to fend for themselves until they made their way to the end point where the same caravan would pick them up, two days later. Most of the group had already gathered, only bringing the necessities for the trip. If they brought anything else, they would be weighed down and cause unnecessary grief through the trip.
However, one new Draenei seemed to running a tad late. She ran through the halls of the university carrying a large backpack on her back. Items jingled off it, along with a few miniature pieces of equipment, obviously in case she found some sort of artifact to dig up. She was wearing a simple pair of brown pants with a sleeveless green shirt. A blue stone necklace bounced off her chest as she ran, as well as the twins braids hanging over her shoulders. She had tried to fit a hat on her head earlier, but figured it wouldn’t stay because of her horns.
The Draenei finally made it out to the meeting spot and laughed as she placed her hands on her knees to catch her breath. “Sorry! I’m so terribly sorry I’m late,” She explained, “But.. Ah, no worries! Ilinii is here now!” She laughed again, standing up straight and looking at her fellow faculty members. She waved slightly, moving her bangs out of her face. “I was just… unsure of what to bring. I didn’t know what terrain we might be facing, so I brought enough for any type of terrain…. I hope,” She thought about that for a moment, “I guess it depends on what type of terrain is out there. I haven't traveled this world long enough to know all the terrains.”
Ilinii shook her head and returned to the matter at hand. “Either way! I brought a lot of supplies! I’m very excited for this trip!” She exclaimed, walking toward the caravan. Ilinii was the newest member of the Stormwind University faculty. She hadn’t gotten the greatest chance to meet everyone yet. Nor make any last friendships. She hoped that this weekend, that could happen with how close they’ll be to each other!

Anna sat perched on the edge of the caravan cart, her ordinarily loose, hip length hair pulled back into a tight braid going down her back. In favor of her normal attire, she had chosen a sturdy pair of black leather boots, simple dark pants, and a light indigo colored jacket. A small pack rests on her back, clearly not holding very much, nor its capacity as the fabric seems to be sunken in.
Aside from joining in on a few of the side conversations among her fellow fa utly, she seems largely content sitting, enjoying the day and reading a small novel. She plays with the gold band around her left hand ring finger absently as she reads.
She looks up as she hears the click of hooves approach, her face instantly brightening, falling, but still smiling, when it isn't who she was expecting. She regards the late coming Draenei with what she hopes is a polite nod, "I believe we all are"
She tucks a flyaway strand of hair away behind her long pointed ear and sets her book aside. She looks around the unfamiliar draenei and into the distance, sighing, "You aren't the only one we were waiting for though..." Shaking her head, she slides from the cart and walks up to Ilinii, standing at a little over six foot tall, "I don't believe we've met yet, I'm Illeiianna Mistcrown"~
Vierdri dismounts her motorcycle in front of the forge in Stormshield, bidding farewell to the other adventurers and soldiers who had joined her in repelling the latest Horde incursion into the nearby quarry. Checking her sword for any damage, she is startled by the sound of the bells chiming from the town hall. "It is that time already? I am late!"
Reaching into a pouch at her side, and thanking Anna in her mind once more for being so adept at magic, she pulls out a long cloak, one that definitely should not have fit inside the small belt pouch, throws it over her shoulder and utters a key word, teleporting her and her bike instantly to Stormwind. Shoving the cloak haphazardly back into her pouch, she pushes the bike out of the Stormwind mage tower and down the ramp. Starting the bike, she leaps on it and soon arrives at the caravan behind the University.
Seeing Anna introducing herself to another Draenei, she parks her bike and jogs over to join them, hooves clicking on the stones, still in her ornamented silver armour, which is composed mainly of a silver bra, bikini bottom, gloves, shoulders and thigh guards. It is generally quite shiny, but there seem to be a couple of stains on part of it right now. Her katana hangs at her side, and her steel shield is strapped to her back. She carries no other gear other than a couple of small belt pouches, and seems slightly stressed. She smells faintly of oil and maybe.. is that blood?
She grins at Anna as she approaches the duo. "Bala'dash, Dalah'surfal. Am I late?" She gives Anna a quick kiss on the cheek and turns to the Draenei. "And hello. I do not believe I know you. I am Vierdri, Provost of this University." She smiles warmly.
"Ilinii!" Declares Alandi, making her way around from the other side of the caravan. "Oh you have no idea how worried I was! I thought you'd gotten lost! Or worse!" She couldn't hide the mischievous grin that had slithered across her face; teasing had always left her looking adorably devilish.
"Oh, I'm only kidding! I'm just glad you could make it, Niinii. Oh, and don't worry about being late. It doesn't take long to find out that around here, a three o'clock departure time really means four or five or maybe... ten!" Her lips purse again, grinning with wicked delight. At least you won't ever have to worry about Alandi keeping a secret; her expressions alone would spill all the beans she's ever had.
"I'd say take your chance to relax while you've still got it." She bumps a concealed elbow into Ilinii's side, making a series of minute gestures towards Vierdri. "Some of these guys are gonna have you working so hard you'll forget you're supposed to be having fun!"
((Ohhh, wow... Ok, I promise these posts won't be nearly this long again for these Forum RPs! Sorry! Got carried away! ; ; But do enjoy!))
Amaranthaea was deeply excited for this impending trip, and she made a rather clear and evident show of it in her expression as she'd waited patiently at the side of the caravan.
A longtime survivalist by necessity years ago, Amara knew exactly what she needed to pack and not a single item more. As it was, her trusty leather satchel often carried most of what she needed day to day anyway. (And much of what she, incidentally, kept in there for any given situation's needs it seemed!) She was dressed in a simple ensemble of a tanned leather hide robe, with a brown wide-brimmed hat hanging behind her head by a thin cord around her neck. Amara had packed a comfortable pair of leather sandals for the benefit of her Human feet as well, though she didn't think they'd see much use during this particular journey; No, this was going to be a hiking trip among Nature and all of Elune's plentiful bounties!
Everyone seemed well-prepared so far as they'd arrived at the meeting point. Though even if things were to go awry on this trip by some chance, Amara felt strongly confident that she'd ensure everyone made it back home, safely and soundly. They might need to eat unsavory bugs, roots or other manner of "natural proteins" to stay nourished and alive. They might have to wriggle through mud and muck, tax their bodies to the extreme limit, or huddle together naked on cold nights for body warmth, but Amara knew for damn sure she'd get her friends and colleagues home in one piece if she had anything to say about it!
Amaranthaea had naturally decided to begin this trip in Worgen shift and eagerly sought the many possibilities that this weekend hike presented. She looked forward to exploring some wilderness, enjoying quality time among her peers, and soaking in as much of their natural environs as she could in her other shifts as well! It was extremely rare that anyone, even Suzy, had ever seen Amara in any form beside her Human or Worgen shifts. She'd always been wary of her more primal animal forms while inside the confines of Stormwind City, mostly as a concern for the safety of others.
Amara had much better control of her Worgen side these days. Yet, bearing her own consciousness combined with the mindset of an animal such as a tiger or bear was still somewhat daunting to her. In the wilds and distant locales away from civilization, Amara had no worries for harming any innocents or frightening errant townsfolk, and as such, would gladly stalk and bound about freely in her animal forms. She enjoyed these times particularly because they'd always made her feel even closer to the earth and Nature.
Amara would most frequently hunt and prowl through the Duskwood in the dead of night when her urges grew too savage to properly tame any further. Duskwood was close enough to Stormwind City, but far enough out that she'd felt she wouldn't be a danger to anyone. The resident Worgen pack, the Nightbane, learned quite early on to tolerate Amara's presence, though they weren't too pleased about it. One fateful night, refusing to believe that she possessed Alpha blood, a few of them decided to taste for themselves. For their foolhardy boldness, Amara had soundly thrashed seven of them before the rest turned tail and ran, never to bother her or encroach on her path again.
But these days, even those occasions were rare. That was yet another reason she'd been excited for this trip: Amara worried that she'd become too "domesticated" in recent times. Despite how overwhelmingly happy she'd been with the course of her life since joining Stormwind University, Amaranthaea felt deeply concerned that it had been causing her to lose her feral edge. Not that she much needed it in such an academic and relatively peaceful environment, but Amara was quite proud of her Worgen side now. That edge wasn't only a part of her as a Worgen, but much of her own pre-existing personality as well! Amaranthaea Crowelley was always a vivacious firecracker in her own right after all and, as she'd boisterously tell anyone who listened, "a Gilnean Rose, born an' proud"!
Amara leaned casually against the side of the caravan, arms folded across her chest. She'd been chatting with a Human adolescent dressed in the customary Stormwind University student attire. It appeared that the young lass had followed Amara all the way from her last class to the site of the faculty's meeting place.
This student was somewhat small in stature, extremely fair of looks and possessed a voice that was melodious yet slightly more baritone than most girls her age. Some of the faculty may even know her by name; Lily Evangeline Moore. Notoriously a "teacher's pet" type among the University's student body, Lily was now a second-year student in Professor Crowelley's Nature Magic and Natural Healing courses after bouncing around majors courtesy of her wealthy noble family's coin for two years prior. She was also a deeply inquisitive sort, currently engaged in a series of questions and answers between herself and her (allegedly) "favorite" Professor. Though a brilliant and pleasant girl, Lily Evangeline Moore was just as deeply determined as most of the students of nobility were when it came to getting her way.
"Nay, Miss Moore!" Amara flatly stated, her amber-gold eyes narrowing a bit. "As I'd told ya, luv. This is a weekend hike for faculty an' staff ONLY!" Lily sighed despondently and decided to attempt her best 'puppy dog eyes' on Amara, her voice raising a couple of octaves in her pleading. "But are you sure, Professor Crowelley? I'd really like to come! I wanna see you practice some REAL Nature magic! Y'know... Out in nature! Okay, okay... I won't ask for extra credit, I'll just come for the fun and excitement of it! How about that? Pleeeeeease, Professor Crowelley! Oh, please please please...PLEASE!!!"
Amara uncrossed her arms and growled lowly in a bit of frustration. She curled and straightened her long, slender fingers as she'd glanced about the caravan, sniffing airily. "I'd really love t' oblige ya, Miss Moore! I really would, on me honour as a Gilnean Rose. But I simply can't. Dean Marris is the boss 'round 'ere, ya know that, luv." "Then ask Dean Marris!" Lily interrupted, excitedly. "Please! Ask her! She'll say yes, I just know it. Especially if YOOOU ask her, Professor Crowelley! C'mon! Please?! I know Dean Marris looooooves you! She must, the way she's always blushing and swooning whenever you're about. Ask her, ask her, ask her!" Amara gently pinched the bridge of her muzzle and sighed deeply. She was grateful that her fond relationship with Dean Marris was still but an unfounded rumor among the student body, although the Stormwind University faculty and staff clearly knew better.
Amaranthaea took another cleansing breath then slowly opened her eyes, looking down upon Lily Evangeline Moore as she placed a large paw consolingly atop the girl's shoulder. "Yer me favorite student Lily, an' rest assured that if I could bring but one student on our trip, it'd be you. An' don't ya look at me with those sad pleadin' eyes, pup. Yer breakin' me 'eart, but that ain't gonna change the facts!" Amara winked then smiled playfully into Lily's eyes, though still shaking her head softly in the negative.
Lily sighed and shrugged her shoulders, then her expression brightened once again as she looked up at Amara once more. "Why don't you and I go on this trip together, then?! How about that idea, Professor Crowelley? Huh?! I'll run home and ask Father for some gold. I'll rent a coach ten times better than this one! My treat! We can follow the rest of the faculty in lavish comfort, and then I can-" Amara raised her paw abruptly to silence Lily. "It ain't happenin' luv, an' that's final." Lily parted her lips to protest but was hushed immediately by Amara. "Nay!" she nearly snarled at the girl. "But, what about-" "No, luv." "How about...?" "You cannot, Miss Moore." "Are you sure-" "Aye! I'm damn well bloody sure, Lily!" This exchange commenced for several more minutes to come.
In the midst of their banter, Amara glanced around for some kind of distraction or assistance in finally dismissing this persistent young lass. Anna was perched on the cart, her nose still stuck in that book she'd been reading to pass the time. Everyone else was milling about and making their own preparations. Where in the hells was Suzy?! Non-plussed but still seemingly undeterred, Lily Evangeline Moore scowled a little and crossed her arms, stamping her foot in the grass beneath her feet.
"You know, Professor Crowelley, I'm not like the other nobles here! I don't threaten with my family's money when I don't get my way. I was raised better than that! I reaaaally love your courses and I reaaaally want to see you use your Nature magic out in the wilds! I think I've been very polite this entire time, and..." Lily droned onward in her self-proclaimed courteous tirade, but Amara didn't hear her anymore.
Amaranthaea had easily heard Anna's heart flutter for an instant nearby, capturing the Worgen's focus away from lovely little Lily. Amara grinned inwardly as she'd no sooner sniffed at the air and detected the sudden rush of those delightful Kaldorei pheromones that Anna always exuded in or around only Vierdri's presence. Yet Amara gave pause and quirked an intrigued brow just a couple moments later. Amaranthaea took another sniff on the passing summer breeze and swiftly realized - seemingly mere moments before Anna had - that the Draenei hurrying toward them was not in fact Vierdri.
Amara narrowed her keen Worgen gaze and a broad, warm smile spread across her muzzle. It was the new adjunct professor, Ilinii, who'd just arrived so hastily. Still, a Draenei, and in her opinion, quite a lovely specimen of her race at that! Ilinii gave off a pleasant scent all her own too, matching her shy but excitable demeanor quite accurately. The nose knows, after all! Scents don't lie, and Amara's intrigue grew ever more. She moved to go greet and welcome Niinii, as Ilinii had endearingly been called, but noticed Anna moving in to make her introduction and Alandi wasn't too far behind to also greet her. Amara decided that Ilinii was in great hands, and so remained where she was for the moment.
Slowly, Lily Evangeline Moore's relentless speech raised from an incoherent drone to actual words once again, to Amara's ears.
"...and moreover, I work a lot harder than the rest of my classmates do, Professor Crowelley. I work a lot harder than ALL of the students at this University, in fact! I believe my unprecedented grade-point average speaks for itself and more than adequately supports my rather bold claim! Even Dean Marris will attest to this. Her poor wrist probably tires from all of the commendations and Dean's List certificates that she signs for me each semester. Sure, I spent two whole years trying to figure out what I wanted to major in, but I'm here now aren't I! I love your courses, Professor Crowelley! All of them! That should count for something, right? I'm not asking for special treatment. Just this once, I'm asking. No, I'm begging you, Professor Crowelley! Begging! Can I please come on this trip, so you can show me some REAL Nature magic?!"
Amaranthaea crossed her arms once again and harumphed quite loudly as Lily finished her ramble, clearly growing mildly frustrated again. Her ears perked at the sudden, distant roaring and rumbling of a fine-tuned Mekgineer's Chopper engine. (Amara only knew it was "fine-tuned" thanks to her many forays with Suzy on the subject, mind you!) She turned to focus her gaze on the sight of Vierdri parking her bike then jogging quite urgently toward Alandi, Anna and Ilinii, still dressed in her battle garb and armaments.
Amara had a wicked idea, that mischievously crooked grin spreading across her face as she turned aside and pointed inconspicuously toward Vierdri. "Oi, Miss Moore! Lookit who's just dropped by! Provost Vierdri's 'ere! Looks like she'll be joining us after all, 'ow wonderful!" Amara clapped her paws together as though a magnificent idea had just occurred to her. "I've a grand idea, luv! 'Ow about we go on over there an' ask Provost Vierdri if you can come along on our trip, eh?"
Amara sniffed at the air once again...
Anna's sweetly inviting pheromones were in full swing once more now that Vierdri had actually arrived. Ilinii still smelled pleasant, more so now that she appeared comfortable with Alandi's presence and Anna and Vie's introductions. Vierdri... well... Amara had always enjoyed that very unique palette of scents! A bit of oil, a few spatters of fresh blood and her natural Draenei smell. Unique and deeply intriguing! All things considered, Amara particularly enjoyed when Vie and Anna were in close quarters with one another - for her own secret, personal reasons, of course! Alandi, being Pandaren - and a Loremistress at that! - had her own aromatic 'coding' that Amara had also grown fondly accustomed to; Delightfully fragrant, though marked with the mixed scent of aged tomes, book polish and the clean, sterile air that was characteristic of inside the Stormwind University Library!
Yet the delicate scent of Lily Evangeline Moore had 'mysteriously' vanished. Well, not completely, as Amara could easily track it from where she stood next to the caravan! Amaranthaea had achieved her goal as intended; At the mere mention and sight of the intimidating Provost Vierdri, Lily had dropped her claim immediately and ran with urgent haste toward home for the weekend!
Amaranthaea reached into her satchel and produced a beautiful, magically preserved Stratholme Lily from inside of it, then placed it preciously in her hair for decoration. She grinned contentedly as she'd finally begun to enjoy some silence and the sounds of nature all around her. Glancing around quickly, Amara gave a light shrug then shifted into her Cat form and leaped into the back of the caravan. "I'll 'ave plenty o' time t' socialize later," she'd mused within her own mind. Amara curled up next to some crates of provisions and settled down for a snooze. Suddenly, she'd lifted her head urgently and tilted her head curiously.
"...Oi, now where in the bloody 'ells is Suzy?!"

“Okay, I think that’s everything. I think… “ Suzy walked back and forth around her office, wringing her hands and looking around. “Oh dear, wait! I’m forgetting something, I know I am!”
It had taken most of the day before, and a good chunk of the morning to get all of her weekend paperwork completed in advance so that she could go on this vacation everyone had planned. The course schedules, grade change requests, grant applications, goodwill letters to royalty, facilities requests to the city planners, and a remediation letter to a student caught in an… indecent situation – all had been completed and sent out. Still, perhaps she was missing something?
She walked over to review her upcoming schedule and “to do” list for the 20th time, scanned it, then placed her head in her hands. She groaned, stared at the ceiling a moment, and muttered to herself, “There’s no way around it anymore, I need to hire more administrative staff.”
The very thought filled her with dread. How would she know the work was getting done the right way? Could she afford a mistake, possibly a big one that would sink her whole university? Of course not! She would just have to work harder, that’s all. Just a few more late nights, early mornings… things were sure to level off eventually, right?
Suzy sighed. “No. No. It will only get worse. Vie was right, I need help. I need to hire more staff. Ok. I’ll hire more staff. I’ll find the money somewhere. Perhaps a new grant? That paperwork should be here…”
In the distance, the Stormwind clock tower tolled 5 times. Suzy’s eyes opened wide. “Five bells! Oh Light… I’m late!” The next 30 minutes found her frantically running home, throwing whatever clothing she could find into a backpack, grabbing her camping bag, and running out the door. A few minutes later she returned, unlocked her door, ran in to grab her notebook and to make sure – again – that all of her machines were turned off. Okay… okay… she could leave now.
As she ran down the path to the meeting spot, she told herself again “This will be a fun vacation. No work this time! Don’t think of work! You almost spoiled that spa vacation with Amara last week with work. Not again! Only fun! You can do it Suzy!”
Around the bend, and there they were. She spotted Vie and Anna, chatting while Vie tapped her hoof and looked around for her. On the ground, raising a head and sniffing at the air… ah, Amara. Suzy rolled her eyes slightly, smiling, knowing she'd never be able to surprise the beautiful Gillian woman due to her Worgan senses. Nearby were her two new Librarians, Alandi and Ilinii. Suzy smiled at the sight of all of them, and the other faculty. This would be fun! She shrugged her bag higher up on her shoulders, and began to jog over to say hello.

((I have a quick suggestion. Since lots of us are clearly into this and to avoid chaos perhaps we can keep the same order for responses now unless someone voluntarily passes? New people will simply be slotted into the order wherever they post first? It's an idea anyway.))
The Draenei looked up at the new face, A night elf! The Draenei and the night elfs started off a little shaky, but only out of fear. One they realized their minds were on the same page, the two races got along swimmingly. Ilinii smiled at the woman, standing up straight so she wasn’t slouching. She stood at about seven in a half feet. She looked down at the night elf, who introduced herself as Illeiianna Mistcrown. It was a beautiful name if you asked her. Ilinii offered her hand as a greet, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Illeiianna! I’m Ilinii, the new History professor here!”
Ilinii’s eyes darted around the meeting site. A few faculty members seemingly grazed around the area, mingling and finding things to do as they waited for the others. “Perhaps I wasn’t as late as I expected,” She said with a slight laugh, “It seems many others are rather late themselves.” Just as she said that, the sound of a motor bike perked her ears. She turned to see another Draenei riding into the meeting area. Ilinii couldn’t help but find the spectacle rather amazing. This Draenei must be more accustomed the Azeroth than Ilinii was. She spend a lot of time in the Exodar before leaving.
It almost caught her off guard with the Draenei joined her and Illeiianna and gave the night elf a kiss on the cheek. She was noticing a lot of couples around. She smiled at the other Draenei as she introduced herself as the Provost. Ilinii’s eyes widened a bit and she bowed. “It’s a pleasure to meet you!” She said, returning to her height, “I’m Ilinii! I’m the newest professor here at the school! Professor of History, with a bit of Archeology.”
Without much time between introductions, another voice called out her name. She recognized it immediately. It was her new boss and friend, Alandi! The adorable pandaren rushed over, exclaiming that she was worried for her. Ilinii laughed and shook her head. The two had become quick friends, both having a number of similar interests and passions. And seeing as they worked in the shelves most of the day together, it would be hard not to become friends.
“Oh, I’m sure they won’t work me that hard!” She exclaimed, rather naively, “I’m just happy to be coming on this trip! I was excited about it for the past two days!” She carefully pulled off her large camping pack and moved to the caravan to place it in the back, that way she wouldn’t have to carry it while they were simply waiting. As she made her way over, she noticed a large cat in the back of the caravan. Her eyes met with it’s and she smiled a little timidly. She carefully placed the pack on the floor of the caravan and backed up, as if it would attack if she made any sudden movements. Yes, she could defend herself, she was a mage after all, but she generally chose not to fight if she could help it.
Ilinii moved back over to the group, noticing Suzanna running over as well. “Did you all know that there’s a large cat in the back of the caravan?” She asked, “Is it coming with us?”
Anna took the offered hand and gave it a firm shake, "Pleasure to meet you, I teach the arcane arts here" She nods in agreement with her comment about the late comers, frowning slightly and looking around again, her face brightening instantly as she sees the motorcycle coming closer. She giggles and blushes as Vie plants a kiss on her cheek.
As Ilinii is pulled away to another greeting from Alandi, she turns to Vie and looks up at her with mock anger, a smile hiding just behind her eyes, "I told you what time you were supposed to be here so you would actually be on time you know" She struggles for a good fifteen or so seconds to hold back a grin before giving up and pulling Vie into a kiss, pulling away and blushing soon after as she realizes that they are in public. She smiles around her sheepishly and looks up at Vie, shifting back and forth on her feet, "So why were you late anyway?"
She turns as Ilinii poses her question, not hardly noticing Suzy's approach, "There's a what in the caravan"
Vie kisses Anna happily, and looks at Anna under her lashes, biting her lower lip and smiling slightly when Anna pulls back, thoroughly amused by her blush. She is about to answer Anna when she hears Ilinii. "I would not worry. It is likely just a druid. We do have a number at the University. I cannot imagine how a large cat would have gotten in otherwise. If you find it is something else, let me know and I will kill it." A moment later, she spots Suzy coming towards them, obviously rushing. Vie attempts the human gesture of tapping a foot, looking rather ridiculous on a hoof, in mock annoyance at Suzy being late, though her sparkling eyes and warm smile convey otherwise. She notes the large bag Suzy is carrying and whispers to Anna, "Was I supposed to pack anything? I sort of rushed her from Stormshield."
((Taking my turn now, at Suzy's request. This one ended up long too. /facepalm Sorry... but please enjoy! :D ))
Amara hadn't pondered Suzy's whereabouts for very long at all before she'd finally caught a whiff of her Beloved's perfume and natural scent. Her eyes retained their amber-gold hue from her Worgen shift into her animal forms, glowing serenely yet with an ever-present predatory shimmer to them. She was mindful of this fact, as well as her earlier realization that not many of the Stormwind University faculty and staff have seen her take animal shape before.
Amara was exhausted, however. Mentally now, thanks in large part to lovely little Lily Evangeline Moore, but also physically from her recent activity from the last twenty-four hours or so too.
She'd woken early this morning to not only be ready for her impending courses, but also, to sit vigil by Suzy's bed and watch her sleep for a little while, as she tended to do on occasion. She'd sit at Suzy's bedside, smiling and merely watching her with a silent wonder of their brief but torrid history that led to this point. Amara would caress Suzy's face and thread her fingers through her hair in these private, tender moments as well. It was the only time, to Amara's perceptions, that Suzy had ever just stopped to be calm and peaceful. Any other time, it was work work work, and if it wasn't for one capacity of the University's functions, there was another sure to crop up and demand her immediate attentions just as swiftly and often, simultaneously.
Amara had even noticed Suzy's painstakingly strict sense of focus during their occasional nightly lovemaking. She'd always done her best to satisfy Suzy to the utmost and, in the same vein, did so in order to see her just... finally relax for a change. But amid their pleasures, Amara couldn't help noticing Suzy's furrowed brows at times, or the way she'd bite her lip anxiously as it seemed she were mentally fussing again. Suzy would swear it had nothing at all to do with work, knowing fully well Amara would likely be insulted, though she'd never explain why either. It took a while to draw the conclusion, but Amara eventually chalked it up to realizing Suzy's relative inexperience with matters of a relationship, period, let alone sharing one with another woman.
Of course, being the mischievous little vixen that she is, Amara often chose these exact moments to bear down on Suzy's most sensitive areas and silently revel in the fact that she'd rendered Suzy's mind incapable of any thoughts or inhibitions for a good long while after. Being possessed of Alpha Worgen blood, Amara was quite used to taking control of most situations by nature. This one was just the most fun!
But Amara digressed on that point and set those thoughts into the back of her mind for now.
She'd grinned inwardly as she'd caught the scent of Ilinii as she'd approached the caravan and hefted her pack onto the back of it. It intrigued Amara, the way Ilinii's smell had been so sweet and fragrant, yet it became even further inviting as a sudden tinge of fear had set in. Ilinii smiled nervously at Amara and kept a safe distance in a clear and obvious manner. Amara flared her nostrils a little and flicked her tail casually a few times, unable to smile back, but she offered a very feline grin in return nevertheless.
This first rather impromptu test seemed to be a wild success! They hadn't even left the meeting place and ventured into the wilds yet, and Amara had managed to maintain her Cat form in the presence of Ilinii and keep her composure. Well, mostly. Ilinii's sudden shock at the sight of Cat Amara caused her to unknowingly exude the specific corresponding pheromones into the air. Her savage feline mindset had a slight inclination to take a small nibble, though she clearly fought the urge and easily won. But... what does Draenei blood taste like, anyway? By sight alone, their flesh looked delectable to Amara's discerning view. Of course, this probably also had to do with a different sort of desire that was ever-present in Amara to begin with! Regardless of form, she was always "on" and vigilant to all things she'd found pleasing.
The fact that the immeasurably beautiful Vie and Anna were close by as well, and emanating shared, co-mingled scents of their own certainly hadn't been helping matters either!
Amara's glowing amber-gold eyes flared a bit as she'd lifted her head and tilted it slightly, very easily overhearing the conversation at hand.
“Did you all know that there’s a large cat in the back of the caravan? Is it coming with us?”
"There's a what in the caravan"
"I would not worry. It is likely just a druid. We do have a number at the University. I cannot imagine how a large cat would have gotten in otherwise. If you find it is something else, let me know and I will kill it."
As endearingly amusing as Amara had found Anna's query in particular, she'd decided to leap down from the back of the caravan and shift immediately into her Human form while making her way toward the small gathering. A warm and loving smile spread slowly across her full, luscious crimson lips as she'd embraced Suzy and shared a soft kiss with her. "I was beginnin' ta think ya might not make it, Dalah'surfal! Let me guess - fussin' over all the last moment details? Makin' sure ya don't go an' burn our 'ome down while we're gone?" Amara chuckled then sniffed airily and winked at Suzy. She'd draped an arm around Suzy's waist and tugged her closely beside her as she'd turned to regard the others.
"Good t' see ya all again!" Amara had exclaimed in her usual boisterous manner. "Is everyone excited fer this trip?! I know I am." She'd glanced upon Vierdri in particular, offering her a warm smile and a nod of respect and acknowledgment. Amara was excited for this opportunity also, for the possibilities it provided for her and Vierdri to maybe finally forge a closer bond. There'd always been something about Vierdri that had intrigued Amara. Partially because, on some level, she saw herself - her Worgen form, at it's utmost in savagery and aggression - in Vierdri. The fierce Draenei warrior had also reminded Amara of her good friend Declain on some level as well, which heightened her intrigue and interests in Vierdri even further.
The good detective. Another one who, like Suzy, was always deeply entrenched in his work. Lots of work, very little play, although the last time she'd seen Declain, he did confess to looking for an outlet by which to take it easier really soon. She'd invited him to join the faculty on this little weekend excursion, but he still hadn't showed by now. Ah well. Next time, perhaps.
Amara then slid her arm from around Suzy's waist and smiled again as she'd approached Ilinii. "Oi, lemme explain, luv. That cat ya saw in the back o' the caravan? That was me, before! I'm sorry if ya got frightened or startled, I'd just thought I'd chance a little... heh heh, catnap before we all took off finally!" Amara patted Ilinii firmly upon the shoulder and rather boldly brushed the backside of her hand across her cheek for but a swift moment. "Nothin' t' worry about 'round 'ere, luv. I'm 'ere an' now, Provost Vierdi's 'ere. An' believe you me, we ain't the only two among this bunch what knows 'ow t' fight, neither!" She'd winked at Ilinii in a reassuringly manner and flashed her a small smile. "Even you've got some kind o' fightin' prowess about ya, I can sense it straight away."
"Anyway... If me Cat form was a bit of a shock t' anyone, I'll offer right now that I do plan t' fully explore the natural terrain in... quite natural manner, this weekend." She strode back toward Suzy, pausing and glancing over her shoulder with a particularly sly wink at Vie. "...So unless somethin's about t' kill ya, rip yer throat out or anythin' else, do mind not slayin' poor little Amara, won't you?"
(( I'm so sorry for taking such a terribly long time to reply. If it's too late and you'd like me to delete this post and wait for my next turn, that's absolutely fine.))
"Well if you're so eager to get out and see the world, then let's get to it! I don't think I can sit around waiting anymore!" Alandi teases, but it's all she can do to from killing over; this anticipation is lethal! She'd indeed waited a long time for this day, it'd been everything she'd ever dreamed of! Off to wander the wild wilders for days on end, with dear company at her back. Oh, what isn't there to love?
And indeed, there is a lot to love. Excitement invigorates every part of Alandi's world, turning the grass a deeper verdant green and the clouds above whiter and more fluffy than ever before. Even the beating sun in all its terrible radiance can hardly match with raw enthusiasm; it only spurned her further, faster, caused an ache in her leg that might only be healed by a fleeting foot into the deep unknown. Besides, it made that chilling breeze all the more bewitching.
She takes to Ker, her beloved steed and faithful companion. Strangely enough, she never makes a whole lot of attention for this feathery friend. Strangely more, it's a secret to all one that Alandi is absolutely terrified of large birds. The inky nothingness in their eyes, the inhuman ways at which they contort their bodies, oh it just make her shiver! But, to every rule there is an exception, and to every of Alandi's quirks there's some sort of of exception or blatant contradiction that makes her all the more endearing.
There's no denying that Ker is a beautiful crane, though. Maybe Alandi just enjoys her vanity's sake. Would she do that?
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Alandi atop her mount, her patience running only on fumes. "Let's hit the road!"
((No worries Alandi, you're fine. Better late than never! :-) I got a bit stuck here, so this one will be a bit short for now.))
Suzy reveled in Amara's greeting, though as always was slightly embarrassed by how forward she was with her affections in front of others. It was getting better, however, as she got more used to the idea of being in a relationship. A relationship, and with a beautiful Gilnean woman no less! A Suzanna from a few months ago would never have believed it, and yet here she was. She took a moment to remind herself to avoid work for this weekend, and to do her best to focus on her. This time, she would do better!
Shaking her head, Suzy returned to focus on the present and caught the end of Amara's discussion with the others on her shape changing. She grinned and shook her head slightly while waggling a finger, playfully scolding her by saying "Now, Amara, are you scaring the junior faculty again?"
Amara opened her mouth to protest, and Suzy softly punched her arm saying "I'm just kidding dear! Light knows with our diverse bunch, they could all use as much exposure to whatever we can throw at them as possible!"
She shocked herself a little by boldly giving Amara a kiss on the cheek, then walking over to toss her backpack and camping bag in the back of the caravan. Hearing Alandi's cry, she turned back to Amara, and said "Well then, shall we?" and began to walk with the now moving cart down the winding trail.
Ilinii groaned at herself and smacked her forehead with the ball of her head. Of course, druids. She was so stupid not to have thought of that. So many other things go on in her head that she didn't even think of the possibility of other classes that had those talents. Even if it wasn't a druid, it could have been a hunter's pet! Ilinii smiled at Amara nervously and apologized softly for her mistake.
"I didn't mean to mistake you for your form, Amara," She said, "I should have realized it wasn't a wild animal. I'm so sorry." Ilinii was a tad naive in certain respects. Her mind always seemed to be else where, even if she seemed fully aware. She was always thinking of what her current or next project is. However, this weekend, she only had plans to take in the new world. She was prepared to do whatever she could to take advantage of this weekend. It seemed like everyone else had there own plans or was going to do the same.
Alandi burst out with excitement as soon as we started the trip. She had the right idea. It was time to see the world! The caravan started to move a moderate, yet slow pace. Not everyone could fit in it, so most of the party would just walk beside it. "I'm so excited!" She exclaimed, "I can't wait to see new worlds! I hear this trip is taking us to... stranglethorn vale? I was looking at some maps earlier, that's a jungle, correct?" Ilinii turned around so she was walking backwards and facing Alandi, "I hear there are ruins in Stranglethorn vale! The possibility of taking home some artificats is so exciting!"
